Dear BT reader,

Today was Nomination Day, which saw prospective candidates turn up at nine nomination centres around the island to submit their papers to stand in the May 3 general election.

There was plenty of uncertainty and drama, with some ministers making surprise appearances where they weren't expected and the People's Action Party (PAP) winning Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC via a walkover after a no-show by the Workers' Party (WP). We also saw the emergence of several three-cornered fights and even a four-way battle in Tampines GRC, the first of its kind since 1992.

Catch up on all the major developments with this round-up article, or scroll through our Nomination Day live blog to review any action you might have missed. There will be a lot more content coming in over the nine days of campaigning until May 1, so keep checking our GE2025 microsite for more stories.
