Singaporeans will vote in the general election on May 3, which has been declared a public holiday. The Ministry of Manpower said that the day should be treated in the same manner as any other public holiday. More on the guidelines here.

Separately, 18 members of the public received the Singapore Civil Defence Force's Community Lifesaver award for their part in rescuing and helping victims of the fire on River Valley Road. A 10-year-old girl died and 21 others were injured in the fire on April 8.
